PAINTING TOUR with WENDY SHARPE
29 October – 8 November 2018
Rabat – Fes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen – Rabat
Renowned artist Wendy Sharpe will lead a 10 day Painting Tour in the glorious North of Morocco. Starting in the capital, the Imperial City of Rabat, we begin our painting adventure in the ancient Oudaias Kasbah at the mouth of the Bou Regreg River on the Atlantic coast. Next the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis en route to Fes, the oldest Medina in the Islamic world and then north to the famous ‘blue city’ of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains.
One of Australia’s most awarded artists and a generous, experienced teacher, Wendy will be a wonderful host for this tour. The focus will be on the medium of gouache, exploring a working method that is fresh and immediate, responding to your surroundings by working directly from life. Reviews and critiques of the works and evening discussions will be a time to share ideas as we travel together and learn about Morocco.
Primarily an immersive, cultural holiday we explore the rich and complex history and contemporary life of Morocco, staying in the most comfortable traditional guesthouses, enjoying the extraordinary delights of local food and hospitality. Traveling with a small group of like-minded people the program offers an innovative and creative way to explore a new place that is stimulating, supportive and safe. Partners are also welcome to join the tour and will be well catered for.
