Review – 2013 DRAWING TOUR

The May 2013 Cultural and Drawing Tour across Morocco with Rita Lazauskas was the first group tour Elaine and I had taken in 25 plus years of overseas travel. It proved an outstanding experience. Not only did we enjoy the colourful landscape of the coastal plains, the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara, but the lifestyle and hospitality of the Berber and Arab people of Marrakesh, Tamdaght, Skoura, Merzouga, Fez and Rabat was memorable. Margaret England is set to be our very first Guest Artist and will lead a tour 21 October – 3 November 2013. Margaret works in assemblage, collage, installation and is a master at ‘gleaning’. Rita Lazauskas – 2012 Dobell Drawing Prize Finalist

DRAWING TOUR host artist Rita Lazauskas is a finalist in the prestigious 2012 Dobell Drawing Prize on show at the Art Gallery of NSW until 10 February 2013. Her work titled ‘View from the Ramparts #5’ is inspired by her travels with Morocco tours.
